Our Story

Credit Union Trust is a limited purpose, state-chartered bank in Michigan. It was organized by credit unions to primarily serve the needs of credit union members and to assist members in the creation, protection, and preserving of wealth for themselves and their heirs.

What we do

Credit Union Trust provides trust and investment management related services primarily to credit union members. While credit unions routinely provide a range of wealth management services for members, they are by law unable to directly provide fiduciary and trust administration services. Credit Union Trust now provides these services to members and the public. Credit Union Trust also offers investment management solutions for foundations, not-for-profit entities and community-based entities. Credit Union Trust investment, fiduciary and trust services include:

Credit Union Trust was established by seven Michigan Credit Unions to serve the needs of our members by providing these and other related services at the critical times in life when they’re needed. Credit Union Trust has an experienced team of professionals that are here to help with all such trust and family planning needs for today and future generations.

3 Benefits A Trust Account Has Over A Will

  1. More Privacy – Wills are public documents that anyone can access. A trust, on the other hand, is a private document that’s accessible only to the trustee and their chosen designates.
  2. Control of Asset Distribution – A trust allows you to pay out inheritances in smaller payments, and to condition them according to attainment of specified milestones.
  3. Ease of Use – A trust can be set up without an attorney, without witnesses, never has to be brought to court and can’t be challenged.
