John Hyatt

John came on board as a Commercial Loan Officer with Team One Credit Union in 2014 to establish the company in the Traverse City market, help build the team, and lead growth. John has been involved with Commercial Banking Services for more than 20 years, and he is amongst the top producing credit union commercial lending officers in all of Michigan. John truly enjoys the commercial banking business and the relationships he has developed with business owners over many years of working together, to meet their credit and banking needs.

John is a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, a graduate of Michigan State University’s James Madison College and the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. John also stays active in the community, and serves as the Vice Chairman for the Leelanau School, and he serves on the Board of the Kiwanis Club of Traverse City. He is a member of the Elk’s Club, the Chamber of Commerce, and has engaged in numerous volunteer activities, such as teaching Junior Achievement classes, the Cherry Festival, Women’s Resource Center, the State Theater, and the Salvation Army. He’s also coached many youth sports teams, including track, volleyball, soccer, football, and mentoring with area high school tennis teams.

Outside of John’s professional and community work, John enjoys spending time with family, friends, reading, traveling, and staying active, particularly with tennis, pickle-ball, and running. He has completed numerous half and full marathons; most recently completing Ironman 70.3 Michigan in 2021. Not only does John lend in the community, he also supports the community!
